Internet dating is exciting, difficult, fun and time-consuming. Yes, it has a lot of good points, but it has some bad ones too! Internet dating for Christian singles is similar to ordinary dating, but you have the bonus of being extra specific about what you’re looking for, or who might be looking for you.
Tip 1: Make them notice your profile!
There are so many profiles on dating sites that yours needs to stand out for potential dates to notice it. If you are able to customise it with colours or icons, then do! Make sure you fill out all the boxes too! If your faith is important to you, then make it obvious in your profile.
Tip 2: Be clear about what you’re looking for.
You might be a Christian single person who ONLY wants to date other Christian singles. Or, you might be a Christian single who just wants your dates to be aware of your faith even though you don’t necessarily want to date another Christian single. Think carefully about what you want in a potential date, and make sure your profile clearly depicts that.
Tip 3: Be specific.
The more specific you are, the more likely you are to find a suitable date. If you just write “I like movies, eating out and sports” then any responses you get will be equally vague. Most people like movies, eating out and some kind of sports, so that isn’t specific enough. It might be better to write something like “I enjoy scary films (the old classics are my favourites!) and cooking Chinese food. I play hockey in a local team, and follow the Red Sox.”
Tip 4 : Upload recent photographs.
Yes, you may not be as young, fresh-faced or thin as you once were, but there’s no point in lying about it! Use a flattering, recent photograph that shows you at your best. It’s best to avoid using any photos with other people in them too. If you deceive anyone about what you really look like, you’re just setting them – and you – up for disappointment.
