Tip # 2. Identify your successes.
We all have them. What are your good points? Think about every single aspect of your life, and write down any positives you can think of. It might be your punctuality, or how you are kind to strangers, or that you’re good at painting, or can cook a great Chinese dish. However small, write down your good points, and write down all the things you have done successfully. Have you finished college? Did you pass your driving test? Are you keen to work? Have you ever helped anyone or got involved in your community?
Tip # 3. Be appreciative for what you do have.
Even when it seems like we have nothing, you can be sure that you’ve got more than someone else. Many people in the world do not even have access to clean drinking water, or their own private space. Again, make a list of everything you have to be grateful for. Look at it. Realise that things could be much worse.
Tip # 4. Listen and believe when someone compliments you.
If someone takes the time to compliment on you on something, don’t brush it aside saying “Yeah, right!” Believe it! Hell, even write it down and remember it!
Tip # 5. Focus on your goals.
Make a list of goals. Organise it into immediate goals, medium term goals and long term goals. Make sure that every day you are doing something to work towards these goals When you can tick it off a list every single day, you can see that you are progressing. This will improve your self confidence significantly. When you can see that you are actively doing something to improve your life and get to where you want to be, you will be a happy person!
